Little Free Library

Over the past few weeks, my 501(c)(3) organization, Unum Mundum, has been working on creating a Little Free Library. Inspired by the extra books at our homes, we decided to build one and reached out to churches and organizations that might be interested. We aimed to find a community without an existing Little Free Library and found a location at True Baptist Church in Lizton, Indiana. To build the library, we repurposed an old shelf from Goodwill as the frame and sourced additional materials like a back panel, door, hinges, paint, a clear window, and a post from Home Depot. Our team met daily at my house, using my father’s tools and receiving his help to complete the project. My sister even added Unum Mundum’s logo to the window. The pastor was very grateful for our donation, and we were happy to put our books to good use.
