Italy

For the past two weeks, my family and I explored Italy, visiting Rome, Naples, Florence, Milan, and Bologna. The country’s rich history and deep cultural roots made a strong impression, especially in comparison to the relatively young culture of the U.S. We were captivated by Italy’s ancient architecture, historical sites, and artistic masterpieces, which seemed to tell a story at every corner. The food was equally amazing, with a focus on fresh, simple ingredients that made every meal more unique than anything we could find at home.

Having a rental car allowed us to travel easily between cities, giving us the chance to experience the distinct character of each place. Rome’s historic landmarks, such as the Colosseum and the Vatican, were awe-inspiring, while Naples offered authentic local flavors and a vibrant street life. Florence, despite being crowded with tourists, retained its charm with stunning Renaissance art and architecture. Milan showcased modern elegance alongside historical beauty, and Bologna surprised us with its fresh tortellini and medieval streets. Overall, the trip was an engaging and enjoyable journey, proving that although Italy may be over-touristed, it certainly lives up to its reputation.
