Yesterday, we volunteered at Coburn Place, a domestic abuse treatment center in Indianapolis that provides housing for families affected by domestic violence. We discovered Coburn Place while searching for volunteer opportunities online, and their work with children aligned perfectly with our mission of supporting youth. After reaching out, we were invited to host a booth at their STEM fair, where we set up an activity for building structures using gumdrops and toothpicks. We arrived early to help set up the event, and it was a joy to see the children’s creativity and enthusiasm. In addition to our booth, we explored others, including one with animals to pet—even a pony. Overall, it was a rewarding experience, and we enjoyed meeting the people at Coburn Place and learning more about their organization.
