Every year, my family celebrates Lunar New Year with food and quality time spent with loved ones. This year, we decided to make the occasion even more special by hosting a larger party with festive decorations and more guests than usual. We invited our closest friends and family, ordering delicious dishes from a local Chinese restaurant to share.
In keeping with tradition, we wore red and gold for good luck, and some of us wore qipaos, the traditional Chinese dress. The celebration was fun and our guests even brought gifts to wish us good fortune. Our parents also follow the custom of giving us children red envelopes with money, which we placed under our pillows to bring prosperity in the new year. It was a wonderful experience, and I felt truly grateful to celebrate this important cultural tradition with friends and family.
